Rocky Mountain National Park
Here's a place for folks to share clues and discoveries of Scavenger Hike Adventures they've been on in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Here's a Clue that never made it to our book.
In the center of the abandoned mining ghost town of Lulu City (Scavenger Hike Adventure #2) is a beautiful meadow. In our book you will search for the incredible tree that is standing in the former town center. There is a small stream that flows from the back of this old ghost town. From the meadow, follow that stream up the hill for about 50 yards (half of a football field) and find a silver-colored chain padlocked to a tree and a padlocked large box. It was placed there by the national park rangers. HMMMM????
First Clue From Our New Book
FIND THE PEAK OF THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN THE PARK AND THE AWESOME “KEYBOARD OF THE WINDS”! STAND DIRECTLY UNDER THE BEAR LAKE SIGN FACING THE PARKING LOT--TAKE FOUR STEPS SIDEWAYS TOWARD THE RANGER STATION --PUSH YOUR CHIN UP ABOUT HALF-WAY-- LOOK TO THE RIGHT
SPECIAL HINT: Longs Peak is about 14,259 feet up there… and to the right of that peak are the jagged points of “Keyboard of the Winds.” High winds blowing through those craggy mountain peaks make musical sounds. This will start your adventure out on a high note! If you have really big ears you might be able to hear the musical sounds as the wind whistles through the keyboard peaks. Just kidding! You are way too far away to hear that music!
