Well, if you're capable—meaning, you can write, you know your activity and your region, and you're eager to share what you know—we'd like to give you the opportunity to do just that. FalconGuides is looking for the most knowledgeable and experienced outdoors people on the planet to be our local guides, our expert instructors, and our most daring adventurists.

We welcome submissions appropriate to our publishing list, which specializes in outdoor recreation, including how-to, where-to, field guides, and other specialties, such as natural history, adventure travel, and books on or related to our national parks.

If you have a book idea and you think we ought to publish it, then please follow the instructions below:

1. A brief synopsis of the proposed work.
2. A definition of the book's projected target audience/market and an analysis of competing titles. Who is the book for? Why will it be better than what is already on the shelf? Why should we publish it?
3. A table of contents or outline of the entire book, plus at least one sample chapter to give us a sense of your writing style.
4. A biographical statement of your credentials. This statement should explain why you are particularly qualified to undertake the proposed project.
5. A self-addressed, stamped envelope large enough to return submitted materials. If this is not enclosed, we will not return your materials. Never send the only copy of anything!
6. To expedite the process, be sure to address your proposal to the Submissions Editor of the particular book category appropriate to your idea. For example, a proposal for a rock climbing guide should go to Submissions Editor–Rock Climbing. A book about kayaking should be sent to the attention of Submissions Editor–Kayaking. You get the idea!
