October 2nd Bouldering Colorado presentation at Neptune Mountaineering went very well and was applauded by its enthusiastic participants. The slide and video presentation also entailed music scores that I composed with the help of Garage Band.  A mixed group of beginner, intermediate and advanced climbers asked constructive questions at the shows end, and I offered any, and all explanations or elaboration to their inquiries.  Questions ranged from where, and what area should I start as a new comer to bouldering, to will there be an update or inclusion to other areas that are not mentioned in the book, to what I will do with the information that I have received that is in conflict with other climbers information such as names of rocks and problems.  Replying to the latter, I said, that after looking at the information we will apply it, should it be note worthy, to the next edition.

I would also like to comment on this new, at least for me, having your works being scrutinized by the blog generation. Most of my friends, although they are somewhat computer-literate, are not internet surfers and find very little time to spend sitting next to the computer, and surely not enough time to be scanning climbing sites for recent gossip.  The internet, for some, has become a tool to purge complaints at others they disagree with.  I watched a piece on television the other day and it was being described as a kind of road rage.  I think the invention of the internet is a miracle wonder and has enormous value to the world as whole, but like so many great ideas when it gets in the hands of those who do not use it constructively, in my opinion, it, loses value.  I often find that when I read a negative blog directed at me, I chose to not jump into that fire, take time to think about it, and respond in a humanistic manner, if needed.  Much of the time it is not worth responding to at all. The relatively small amount of negativity that I experienced from this book, has only come through a small percentage of people, and all of it being transported on the internet.  I have shown the book to at least a hundred people now and all have been cordial and polite, reviewing the book with compassion, and understanding of the project that was at hand and the complexity of it all, especially when dealing with the changing times, the climber population and somewhat of a generation gap now between them. I worked on this book for years, and told most everyone I encountered, climbers and non-climbers, about my long enduring project, I guess some of them did not take me seriously or where uninterested and hence did not spread the word. I always wished I had more people in the climbing community helping me out but most are busy dealing with their own lives or projects. I did not waste time and kept moving forward.  I'm so glad that it made it to its temporary resting place on the shelf.  The internet an its effects, is relatively new to me and has been a learning experience.  Hope everyone who gets a chance to go out and boulder today or this week-end has a great time.  Hope to see you at the next presentation. I have wasted to much time on the net, I'm late for work, and I got to go now and support my family.

Successful presentation

Congratulations to you for having such a successful presentation. But to be frank I do not know what "Bouldering" is? From what you have written I just made out this much that it is related to rock climbing so I made out it is an adventure sport relatec to rock climbing. I'll surely search for it now on the Internet because I'm always interested to know about new forms of sports. Anyway atleast thanks for informing about some thing new.
