Epic Adventures
We hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in June a few years back. It was 120 degrees and we had our teenage daughter and her friend with us. Kat strongly advised that we should not go down because of the heat, but I kept thinking about how long we had planned for this adventure. By the time we arrived at the Phantom Ranch Kat needed medical attention for over-hydration and our daughter's friend was sitting on a rock whimpering. Me?....I was just beginning to perhaps consider that Kat might possibly have been right! We hiked out at 2:00 a.m. and proceeded to a luxury resort in Phoenix for recuperation. Seriously, we were fortunate to have made it safely in the relentless, but dry, heat.
Recent Achievement
We just completed Scavenger Hike Adventures Rocky Mountain National Park. Each illustration in the book is carefully placed only on an SCA and trail elevation where that specific plant or animal might be found.

My Interests

Movies
Buddies BBQ sometimes has a full BBQ dinner and a movie ticket for $9.99. We just need a little more cowbell to get us to the theatre. We do have a small collection of early pioneer cowbells. Pioneers could identify herds in the mountains by the hand-made cowbells. Scale of 1 to 10? Movies are a bit below 2. Cowbell Collection? 5.(John)
Hobbies
We supported our two daughters in the Honolulu Marathon and have both committed to run the Honolulu Marathon in December 2007. We bought running shoes and I received a heart monitor watch for Valentine's Day. I figure running is just like hiking except you move your legs a little faster.(John)
Television
We have never watched a single episode of 24 or Gray's Anatomy. The first time we saw an episode of Everyone Loves Raymond was following all the publicity regarding their show going off the air. When our daughter worked as an extra on "Lost" we bought the entire first season or two. What in the world is that all about? What's the deal with the elderly guy who was wheelchair bound and now hunts?
Favorite Food
Peanut butter and Jelly on Wheat.
