<p>Publication of my 13th guidebook.  Traveling to Antarctica, not once, but twice.  Antarctica has always been my dream place and it always will be.</p>

Gear

My platypus keeps me warm at night when I&#39;m backpacking.  It&#39;s the only way I&#39;ve found to warm up my feet so I can sleep at night. 

Favorite Outdoor Activities

Hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing, backcountry skiing, downhill skiing, climbing 13ers and 14ers, and birdwatching.

Antarctica, San Ignacio Lagoon in Baja California, Mexico,  my home state of Colorado, Alaska, and all the rest of the United States.

I love reading true adventures about people climbing mountains, bicycling around the world, observing and studying animal life, and I am a guidebook freak!

Television

The Dog Whisperer is my favorite show even though I don&#39;t have a dog at the moment.  Mike and I are away too much to have a dog, but someday we hope to get one.  My favorite dog in the whole world, Sam, a Samoyed, traveled with me full-time for 10 of his 12 years.  He backpacked, even carried his own pack, and is truly missed.
