Epic Adventures

Month-long backpack trip through the Arctic Natiional Wildlife Refuge, taking us from Arctic Village to Kaktovik. This is the land of the Gwich'in Inidans, a group struggling to retain their subsistence life style, and who have been the subject of my many articles for such publications as National Wildlife and the Christian Science Monitor. Much on my website about them.

Recent Achievement

Returned 3-20-07 from nine-month tour of America pulling Airstream travel trailer to gather story material about hiking, kayaking, biking and general outdoor travel destinations such as the Dry Tortugas (south of Key West).
